Complexity of Work: High

Harbor Construction Company, Inc. (HCCI) mobilized a team of subcontractors to replace all 125 fire rated doors, door frames and door hardware throughout the hospital so the Air Force could meet their life safety certification. In order for the existing door frames to be removed and new frames installed, HCCI’s team had to rework and reinforce the existing walls for the new door frames to be compliant. Once completed, the walls were patched and painted to match existing wall surfaces and floor coverings were repaired/ replaced as needed. HCCI and our team had to erect dust containment tents at every door location so the hospital could still perform their daily functions in a dust free environment. Also some of this work was performed after hours so as to not interrupt the hospital’s operations.

Part of this contract also involved removing all existing exit signage throughout the hospital and installing new exit signage to meet the hospital’s certification. This work was also performed using a dust free containment booth.
